CDTA TO REROUTE SOUTH TROY SERVICE DURING CONSTRUCTION

March 12, 2012

Beginning on Monday, March 12, 2012, and for approximately two months, bus service in South Troy will be temporarily rerouted due to construction work occurring on 4th Street between Van Buren and Main Street as part of the City of Troy’s Year 2 South Troy Reinvestment Project.
 

CDTA AND CDTC FREE BIKE RACK PROGRAM ENTERS 3RD YEAR SUPPORTING BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

(Albany, NY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and the Capital District Transportation Committee are partnering for the third consecutive year to offer free bike racks to public, and non-profit businesses and organizations from across the Capital Region. The program offers up to a $1,000 subsidy through Travel Demand Management grants for approved applicants. The private sector is also eligible for a 50% cost-share of bike racks.

CDTA Service Changes will begin on January 29, 2012

Effective Sunday, January 29, 2012, the following service changes will go into effect. 

Route # 6 (Second/Whitehall) will include an added trip to stop at night to improve connections. The new trip will depart from Broadway and Orange Street at 12:20am and arrive at St. Peter’s Hospital at 12:46am. 

CDTA ANNOUNCES MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY SERVICE

(Albany, NY)     The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 16, 2012, buses will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule except for NX Northway Xpress Commuter service, which will not operate.

CDTA ridership is up 6% for the first 8 months of the fiscal year.

(Albany, NY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 (weather permitting) it will provide STAR customers with free shuttle rides to the Capital Holiday Lights in the Park in Albany’s Washington Park as a thank you for their patronage all year.  The shuttle tour has a limited number of seats available and is reserved on a first come, first served basis.

(Albany, NY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that it will provide free rides to Saratoga First Night attendees on the eve of December 31st, co-sponsored by Saratoga Arts. CDTA Saratoga bus service will be free from 4:00PM –1:00AM on Routes #50, #472 Lake Avenue, and #473 Jefferson Avenue. In addition to regular service, CDTA will operate two special shuttle routes as follows:
