(ALBANY, NY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Saturday, March 15, 2014, buses will be rerouted in downtown Albany from approximately 2:00pm until the end of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. CDTA will also reroute buses in North Albany from 11:30am - 1pm for the  North Albany Limerick Parade.

U.S. Transit Ridership Highest in 57 Years; CDTA Surpasses 16 Million in 2013

ALBANY, N.Y. (March 10, 2014) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) carried 16.3 million customers last year matching a national trend that saw Americans take nearly 11 billion trips on public transportation in 2013, the highest annual public transit ridership number in 57 years.

Route #50 to Have Additional Options for Quad Graphics Workers

ALBANY—The New York Power Authority (NYPA) Thursday announced that work is underway on an Energy Master Plan for the City of Albany to help reduce overall energy costs and carbon emissions, advance energy sustainability and support green industries and jobs. In addition, a new page on the NYPA website has been created to solicit ideas from the public and present details on the master-plan process.

Five Year Outline Focuses On Ridership, Facilities & Economic Development

(February 26, 2014) –The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) Board of Directors today adopted an update to its successful Transit Development Plan (TDP) that guided consistent growth over the past five years.  The TDP is a strategic guide to planning, service and outreach methodology that has led CDTA to near record ridership, which is expected to surpass 16 million this fiscal year.

Shuttle To Connect Times Union Center & Empire State Plaza For Attendees

(Albany, N.Y.) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced it will provide shuttle service for the Times Union Home Expo on February 8-9, 2014.  The service will especially help disabled and senior customers access the largest and longest running consumer home show in the region. The 2014 Times Union Home Expo will feature more than 300 exhibits and a variety of seminars during its three-day run.
