CDTA Allotment Will Be Used To Address Operational Needs
(Albany, N.Y.) – Governor Andrew M. Cuomo’s Executive budget request for 2014-2015 proposes a 1.35 percent increase in state operating assistance for the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA). The budget proposal, which was unveiled yesterday, would provide an additional $420,000 that brings CDTA’s 2014 STOA funding package to $31.6 million.

Authority Will Operate on Sunday/Holiday Schedule in Observance
(Albany, N.Y.) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 20, 2014, buses will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule except for the Northway Xpress (NX) Commuter service, which will not operate.

(Albany, N.Y.) – On New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2013, CDTA will offer free rides to customers on all regular route and STAR services beginning at 8:00pm in support of Capital Region Stop DWI efforts. CDTA has provided free service on New Year’s Eve for 30 consecutive years to help discourage “drinking and driving” across the area.

Authority Services Support Capital Region’s Only First Night Festivities
(Albany, NY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will once again provide complimentary shuttle service, co-sponsored by Saratoga Arts, to Saratoga First Night attendees on December 31, 2013. Additionally, CDTA’s Saratoga bus service on Route #50 (Route 50), #472 (Lake Avenue), and #473 (Jefferson Avenue) will be free for all customers who show First Night buttons from 4:00pm – 1:00am.

Holiday Service Schedules in Effect For Christmas & New Year’s Day
(Albany, N.Y.) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) has announced that on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, 2013, service will operate on a regular weekday schedule. Then on Christmas Day, Wednesday December 25, 2013, service will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. Regular weekday service will resume on Thursday, December 26, 2013.

Early Projections Show $7M Deficit; Washington-Western Service Plan Progressed
(ALBANY, N.Y.) –The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) Board of Directors today approved the submittal of the preliminary FY2015 budget to the State Comptroller’s Office. The Board also authorized the Locally Preferred Alternative to progress planning for a Bus Rapid Transit line on the Washington-Western Corridor.
