CDTA ANNOUNCES LABOR DAY BUS SCHEDULES

(ALBANY) - The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2014, CDTA buses will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. Only bus routes that normally operate on Sundays will be in service. Regular weekday service will resume on Tuesday, September 2, 2014.

CDTA AND ALBANY PINE BUSH COORDINATE ON PILOT PROGRAM

ALBANY, N.Y. The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and the Albany Pine Bush Preserve Commission (APBPC) have teamed up to offer access to the Preserve’s Discovery Center on specific Saturday trips. Cstomers will be able to use Route #155 (Suburban Circulator) to access the Albany Pine Bush Discovery Center (195 New Karner Road) between 10:30am and 1:30pm.

CDTA ANNOUNCES REROUTES FOR SATURDAY ACTIVITY

ALBANY, N.Y. (August 21, 2014) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) has announced reroutes for buses traveling around State Street in Albany due to implosion of a building that will take place Saturday August 23, 2014. These areas will be closed to all traffic starting at 9:30am until approximately 1:00pm. CDTA buses will begin reroutes at 915am and are expected to last until the streets are reopened. The following reroutes will be in effect:

CDTA Announces August Service Changes

ALBANY, N.Y. (August 4, 2014) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) has announced the following service changes will go into effect on Sunday, August 24, 2014. Highlights include improved service on a key trunk route (#22) and enhanced frequency on high performing neighborhood routes with a new afternoon express trip to Rotterdam Square Mall. Some of the changes will make schedules more reliable, while areas with low ridership will see reductions.

CDTA Announces July 4th Holiday Service & Parade/Fireworks Schedule

(ALBANY) - The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Friday, July 4, 2014, in observance of Independence Day, CDTA service will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. Only bus routes that operate on Sundays and Holidays will be in service. Regular service will resume on Saturday, July 5, 2014. NX Northway commuter service will not operate its regularly scheduled service on Friday, July 4, 2014. NX Northway commuter will resume regular service on Monday, July 7, 2014.

Board Approves Smartcard and Mobile Ticket Offerings

ALBANY, N.Y. (June 26, 2014) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) Board of Directors approved proposed smart card and mobile ticket offerings along with an outreach schedule for its New Fare Collection System (NFCS) at its monthly meeting in Rensselaer.

The proposal includes no changes to the cash/base fare to ride fixed route buses or on BusPlus. There will be no changes to the cash/base fare to use STAR or NX service. The changes deal almost exclusively with prepayment programs.
