ALBANY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Thursday June 12th, 2014 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm bus service will be rerouted to accommodate the Burnt Hills Flag Day parade.

CDTA is Nationally Recognized for Top-Level Security Measures

ALBANY, NY (May 28, 2014) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) has earned top honors for its outstanding security program by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

The TSA has commended six rail and mass transit agencies from across the nation for earning the administrations highest rating of “Gold Standard” on their 2013 Baseline Assessments for Security Enhancement (BASE) for their dedication to building a strong security program.

RENSSELAER RAIL STATION TEMPORARY GARAGE CLOSURE

The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that beginning on Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1, 2014, the parking garage at the Rensselaer Rail Station will be temporarily closed to allow for maintenance work to be completed.

All vehicles must be removed from the 1st and 2nd levels of the parking garage before midnight on Thursday, May 29th. Vehicles remaining in the garage will be towed at the vehicle owner’s expense. During this time, customers are encouraged to use surface lots A, B and C for parking.

REROUTES FOR THE 2014 FREIHOFER'S RUN FOR WOMEN

The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Friday May 30 - 31, 2014, buses will be rerouted to accommodate the Freihofer’s Run for Women events. Madison Avenue, between Eagle and Swan Streets will be closed to all traffic.

CDTA Announces Memorial Day Service and Parade Reroutes

(ALBANY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2014, buses will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule with no NX service. Regular weekday service including NX will resume on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. In addition, service will be temporarily rerouted to accommodate various Capital Region Memorial Day parades. The parade schedules and reroutes are as follows. Additional parade reroute information will be added as the week goes on:

Congressman Tonko, Transportation Advocates Hold Rally

ALBANY, NY (Friday, May 16, 2014) Marking Transportation Week, Congressman Paul Tonko (NY-20), the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA), Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan, and representatives from the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) held a press conference and rally at the CDTA Garage in Albany. Congressman Tonko and other community leaders called for major federal investment in our nation’s infrastructure in the form of a new, bold and long-term transportation bill.

CDTA To Reroute Service For 2014 CDPHP Corporate Run

(Albany, NY) –The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at approximately 5:00pm, service will be rerouted to accommodate the 2014 CDPHP Corporate Run in downtown Albany. Reroutes will cease after the event is finished. Routes affected are as follows:

Stackrow has led the Authority during tremendous periods of change and has pledged to expand the company’s profile as a regional economic development engine.

CDTA May Service Changes Now In Effect

The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA)  announced the following service changes went  into effect on Sunday, May 25, 2014. The changes included improved access on New Scotland Avenue, additional service to Wilton Mall and more service options on the Northway Xpress. Some of the changes made schedules more reliable, while areas with low ridership saw reductions.

CDTA & Music Mobile Team Up To Support Bus Safety

ALBANY, N.Y. (April 18, 2014) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced a partnership today with the Music Mobile to further awareness of CDTA’s bus safety program. Capital Region kids designed and created posters with the help of Music Mobile that will be displayed on many of CDTA’s buses all in the name of safety.
