Training & Development Specialist

Description

The Training & Development Specialist supports organizational performance and employee growth by delivering engaging training programs, administering learning systems, and facilitating onboarding initiatives. This position plays a critical role in strengthening workforce capability across operations, technical, and administrative departments.


The ideal candidate is passionate about employee development, highly organized, and skilled at creating learning experiences that drive performance, compliance, and retention.


Key Responsibilities
Learning Systems Administration

  • Administer and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Create and manage user accounts and training assignments
  • Maintain accurate training records and generate compliance reports
  • Monitor completion rates and ensure regulatory compliance

Onboarding & Employee Experience

  • Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding sessions
  • Coordinate internal presenters and subject matter experts
  • Update onboarding materials to ensure consistency and relevance
  • Support initiatives that enhance early engagement and retention

Training Design & Instruction

  • Develop and update training materials using adult learning principles
  • Deliver classroom, virtual, and hands-on training sessions
  • Adapt content to meet diverse learning styles
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust as needed

Employee Development & Coaching

  • Provide career coaching and guidance to employees
  • Promote career pathways and development opportunities
  • Support succession planning and workforce readiness initiatives

Compliance & Policy Training

  • Conduct mandated regulatory and policy training
  • Deliver customer service and remedial training as needed
  • Ensure alignment with organizational standards and service expectations

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with department leaders to assess training needs
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy
  • Communicate training expectations and timelines clearly

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in training, workforce development, adult education, or employee development
  • Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Experience facilitating group training sessions or presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively engage operations, technical, and administrative employees

Salary Range: $61,731 – $72,500
