ALBANY, N.Y. (August 4, 2014) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) has announced the following service changes will go into effect on Sunday, August 24, 2014. Highlights include improved service on a key trunk route (#22) and enhanced frequency on high performing neighborhood routes with a new afternoon express trip to Rotterdam Square Mall. Some of the changes will make schedules more reliable, while areas with low ridership will see reductions.
Enhancements
- Route #22 (Albany/Troy/Watervliet) – Weekday frequency between 12pm-3pm will be increased to every 15 minutes.
- Route #100 (Mid City Belt) – Peak Frequency (7am-10am, 2pm-6pm) will be increased to every 20 minutes.
- Route #125 (Clinton/Sand Creek) – Frequency between 4pm-6:30pm will be increased to 25 minutes.
- Route #353 (Scotia/Mt. Pleasant) – > Weekday frequency between 9am–6pm will be increased to every 30 minutes.
- Route #530 (Rotterdam Square Mall Express) – New PM trip departing Empire State Plaza at 3:45pm.
Reductions
- Route #155 (Suburban Circulator) – Weekday peak frequency (6am-9:30am, 3pm-7pm) will decrease to every 45 minutes. Weekday frequency between 9:30am – 3pm will decrease to every 90 minutes.
- Route #472 (Lake Avenue) – Weeknight and Saturday service will be reduced to 8:55pm, while Sunday service will now begin at 9:30am.
Rerouted Service
- Route #214 (Rensselaer/3rd Street/RRS) – All night and weekend routing will follow Saturday circulation, removing the Albany Bus Terminal stop (Greyhound). Buses into Albany will operate from Dunn Memorial Bridge to Eagle Street, State Street, to a right on Broadway. Buses then continue to Madison Avenue, Pearl Street, and returning to Dunn Memorial Bridge.
- Route #224 (Albany/Troy/Rensselaer) – For consistency, all weekday night trips will serve Empire State Plaza.
- Route #815 (Troy Shopping Shuttle) - Will no longer directly access Kane, Lansingburgh and Hudson Shore Apartment buildings. Riders will need to use curbside stops at each location.
Time Adjustments
Minor time adjustments will be made to the following routes to improve service reliability. Please review new schedules to check for trip departure and arrival modifications.
