(Albany, NY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that Schenectady Operator Robert Rzeszuto placed 6th in the 2013 annual New York State Bus Roadeo competition recently held on Long Island. A total of eighteen operators competed from transit agencies across the State.
Rzeszuto has 27 years of service at CDTA and earned his place in the State Roadeo by winning CDTA’s 2013 Bus Roadeo competition. He also won the 2007 CDTA Roadeo and finished second in 2001 and 2011. Based on his stellar performance, Robert will go on to compete in the International Roadeo held annually in the spring.
CDTA’s Troy Operator John St. Leger and Schenectady Operator Samuel Vengersammy also participated after strong finishes in the local Roadeo. Operator Patrick Piegari, representing NICE (Nassau Inter County Express), came in first place overall.
Local, State and International (USA and Canada) Roadeo competitions test the skills of operators on a rigid, scored course, consisting of several different driving challenges that simulate real life situations on the road. The 2014 Roadeo will be hosted by Rochester Genessee Regional Transit Authority (RGRTA).
