(Albany, NY) - The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that Denise Figueroa was re-elected Chairwoman of the Board at the Authority’s April Board meeting. Ms. Figueroa has been a board member since December 2003 and has served as Chairwoman since 2010. She represents Albany County and previously chaired the CDTA Planning Resources and Development Committee.
Ms. Figueroa is Executive Director of the Independent Living Center of the Hudson Valley. She holds a Masters Degree from The University of San Francisco and a Bachelors Degree from Brooklyn College, City University of New York. She is one of the original members of the Disabled Advisory Committee. She lives in Cohoes.
Joseph Spairana was re-elected Vice Chairman. Mr. Spairana, a member of the CDTA Board since December 2008, is a retired New York State Department of Transportation Engineer with 35 years of service. He resides in Wynantskill and represents Rensselaer County.
Arthur F. Young. Jr. was re-elected Treasurer. Mr. Young has been a CDTA Board member since 1995. He is a retired officer of Key Bank of New York. He lives in Delmar and represents Albany County.
Norman Miller was re-elected Secretary. Mr. Miller has been a CDTA Board member since July 2006. He is president of Leadership Management of New York, Inc., a strategic development company that specializes in organization and management development, executive leadership and team building. He lives in Princetown, and represents Schenectady County.
Other members of the CDTA Board include: David Stackrow who represents Rensselaer County, Georgeanna Lynch who represents Saratoga County; Thomas Owens who represents Albany County; Lisa Ballout who represents Saratoga County and Mark Gerling from Amalgamated Transit Union 1321.
