(ALBANY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2011, buses will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. NX buses will not run. Regular weekday service will resume on Tuesday, May 31, 2011.
In addition, service will be temporarily rerouted to accommodate various Capital Region Memorial Day parades. The parade schedules and reroutes are as follows:
Wednesday, May 25:
5:00-9:00pm: Scotia parade. Routes affected: #50 Route 50, #353 Scotia/Mt. Pleasant
50 Route Northbound:Right on Schonowee Ave.(Jumping Jacks)to a left on Washington Ave.to a left on Sunnyside Rd.,to a right on Rt. 50 to regular route.
50 Route Southbound:Rt. 50 to a left on Sunnyside Rd.,to a right on Washington Avenue,to a right on Schonowee Ave.,to a left on Mohawk Ave. to regular route.
353 Route Westbound:Mohawk Ave. to a left on Glenn Ave.,to a right on Schemerhorn,to a right on Alexander,to a left on Toll,to a right on Sacandaga,to a left on 5th.
353 Route Eastbound:Reverse Route
Mohawk to be closed from Toll to Glen.Approx. 3 hours.
6:30 – 7:30pm: Saratoga parade. Routes affected: #50 Route 50, #472, #473
Broadway from Van Dam south to Circular St will be closed from 6:30 PM for approx. 30 minutes for the Memorial Day Parade. Please follow the reroute below for the following lines
Route 50 Northbound: Regular route on Ballston Ave and Route 50 continue on Circular St (by the Stewarts and Holiday Inn) stay on Circular St, to Left on Lake Ave, to Right on High Rock to regular route.
Route 50 Southbound: Regular route on High Rock, to Left on Lake Ave, Right on Circular St to Ballston Ave to regular route.
Route 472 Eastbound: Regular route on Church St, Left on Clinton St, Right on Clement to straight into First, to a left on Broadway, to a right on East St.,to a right onto Excelsior Ave, to High Rock St, to Left on Lake Ave to regular route.
Route 472 Westbound: Lake to a right on High Rock, bear right Excelsior to a left on East St.,to a left on N. Broadway, to a right on First St.,to a left on Clinton St., to a right on Church St. to regular route.
Route 473 Southbound :Leaving Embury to a left on Clinton, to a right on Clement straight into First St.to a left on N. Broadway, to a right on East to right on Excelsior Ave, bear left onto High Rock, to a left on Lake Ave, right on Circular St to regular route.
Route 473 Northbound: Circular to a left on Lake, to a right High Rock to Excelsior, to a left on East, to a left on N. Broadway, to a right on First St. to a left on Clinton to Embury.
Thursday, May 26:
6:45pm: Cohoes parade. Routes affected: #29 Albany Cohoes via Route 8, #82 Troy-Cohoes-Green Island
Line #29:Northbound: Columbia Street to Left on Simmons, Right on Vliet Blvd, Right on North Mohawk Street, to Right on Mohawk Street.
Line #82:Northbound: Regular route Saratoga Street, Left Bridge Avenue, Right Mohawk Street, Left North Mohawk Street to regular route.
Southbound: Regular route to Vliet and Garner Street, Continue straight on Vliet Blvd to right on North Mohawk Street, Right on Mohawk Street, Left on Bridge Avenue to Right on Saratoga Street.
Green Island Parade 6:00pm - #82’S will use Cohoes Road through Maplewood for both directions. No service will be available in Green Island.
Rotterdam Parade 6:00pm
Line 63 Westbound: Right Greenpoint Ave , Right Altamont, L Chrisler to L Lakeview, right on Crane, left on 10th , left on 8th, right Cheltingham, around the bend into Osterlitz, right on Helderberg, to right on regular route .
Saturday, May 28:
9:00am: Ballston Spa: Routes affected: #50 Route 50
Southbound: Rowland,R-Northline Rd. which becomes Galway Rd. (Rt 45), L- Middle Line Rd.,L-Amsterdam Rd. (Rt.67) which becomes West High St, to a R-Ballston Ave,L-McMaster St.,R-Rt 50 to regular route.
Northbound: Rt. 50 to a L-McMaster St.,R-Ballston Av.,L-West High St.(Rt. 67) which becomes Amsterdam Rd.,R-Middle Line Rd.(traffic light),R-Galway Rd (Rt. 45),L-Rowland Rd. to regular route.
Sunday, May 29:12:00pm: Rensselaer parade. Route affected: #214 Rensselaer/Third Street/Amtrak
EASTBOUND: Regular route from Wal-Marts on Washington Ave to a R/ I-90 to Rt 787 south to the Clinton Ave exit to a L/Pearl St, to a L/Hudson Ave.
WESTBOUND: Leave Hudson/Broadway, to a R/Broadway to R/Madison, to a R/Pearl St continue Pearl St to a R/on Rt 787 North ramp( just before Clinton Ave) to I-90 East to Exit 7 to a L/Washington Ave to regular route.
Monday, May 30:

The Parade route will be from Central Ave and Quail St, Via Central Ave, Washington Ave to State St and Eagle St.

ROUTE 280- regular route Pawling Ave to rear entrance of Hannaford Plaza. Operators advised to adjust time out of Hannaford according to paddle from the front entrance at traffic light to Pawling Ave regular route.
