Commuter Service Will Suspend Operations on Friday, March 28

ALBANY, NY (March 4, 2025) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will discontinue its FLEX + On Demand pilot program, which provided direct train to transit service for customers traveling to and from the Joseph L. Bruno Rail Station and Downtown Albany. The final day of service will be Friday, March 28, 2025.

The pilot provided CDTA with a sampling of pre-booking features that may be utilized as part of other on demand programming and served roughly 2,000 customers with a new transit-based commuting option. Customers can use Routes #114 & #214 from East Street at the station for access to connect with other services in Downtown Albany.

“CDTA is always offering customers innovative ways to sample new connections throughout the Capital Region,” said Interim CEO Michael P. Collins. “We’re happy to have gained some on demand operating experience and look forward to strengthening our vibrant route network.”

Customers looking for additional information about the discontinuation of FLEX+ can contact CDTA’s Customer Service Center at (518) 482-8822.
