Proposed fare changes will align Warren County with CDTA’s Service Area
ALBANY, NY (January 16, 2025) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) will hold a public hearing on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Crandall Public Library for CDTA’s proposed fare structure change in Warren County. When Greater Glens Falls Transit merged into CDTA in January 2024, it did not adjust fares. After a year of gaining operating experience in Warren County, CDTA is proposing to align the fare structure with the rest of the CDTA system.
The fare structure being proposed for feedback is below:
Cash Base Fare $1.50 Half Base Fare $0.75
Paratransit $2.50 Summer Trolley $1.50
CDTA’s Navigator fare structure allows customers to load funds onto a smartcard or via an App on customers smartphones. Customers will be able to purchase Navigator cards or download the mobile app. Pay as You Go smart card rides are $1.30 for the first three rides, fourth and up are free for the rest of the day. Half fares rides are $0.65 for first three rides, fourth and up are free for the rest of the day.
Frequent Rider monthly passes provide unlimited service for 31 consecutive days at a cost of $65. Half fare cost for the Frequent Rider option will be $32.50. To learn more about Navigator, got to https://www.cdta.org/navigator.
CDTA will accept written comments from people who are unable to attend the hearing. Written comments must be mailed or emailed to CDTA by February 7, 2025.
