Changes Effective Sunday, January 26, 2020
ALBANY, NY (January 8, 2020) CDTA will be making a series of changes at the end of January that will add service and frequency to some of its most popular routes, making the route network even more convenient and accessible to the Capital Region.
“CDTA is constantly evaluating its route network to make sure it is efficient, effective and responsive to the needs of the region.” said CDTA CEO Carm Basile. “These changes will provide increased service and frequency to some critical neighborhood routes, two things our customers want and deserve. As we continue to be nimble and adapt to a changing transportation landscape, we want to be attractive to new customers as well.”
The changes feature new weekday and weekend service, frequency enhancements, along with timing adjustments based on increasing ridership trends.
The complete list of changes that will take effect on Sunday, January 26, 2020 is below:
Service Enhancements:
- Route #100 (Mid City Belt) – Increased frequency during the weekday afternoon peak to accommodate increased ridership. Service will improve to every 15 minutes from 2:15pm to 6:00pm Monday through Friday.
- Route #138 (Allen Street – Livingston Avenue) – New Sunday service operating every 90 minutes from 9:00am to 6:00pm
- Route #289 (Griswold Heights – St Mary’s Hospital) – New Sunday service operating every 60 minutes from 9:00am to 6:00pm
- Route #351 (Van Vranken Avenue – Broadway) – New Sunday service operating every 90 minutes from 9:00am to 6:00pm
- Route #353 (Scotia – Mt. Pleasant) – Increase frequency during the weekday AM peak and on Saturdays. The weekday morning service improves to every 30 minutes from 6:30am to 9:30am Monday through Friday. The Saturday service improves to every 30 minutes from 11:00am to 5:30pm.
Service Reroutes:
- Route #100 (Mid City Belt) – Will no longer layover at Quail and Bradford location. New layover in the counter-clockwise direction will be after Van Tromp & North Pearl Street and after South Pearl Street and Beaver Street in the clockwise direction. Customers looking to reach their destination without a layover may want to consider using the alternate #100 direction.
Timing Adjustments: Minor time adjustments will be made on the following routes to improve connections and reliability. Customers should check schedules to verify arrival and departure times.
