Event parking and shuttle service available at two designated lots on Friday, March 17, 2023 to MVP Arena for College Basketball Tournament

ALBANY, NY (March 13, 2023) As basketball fever invades downtown Albany this weekend, CDTA will provide transportation options from two lots on Friday, March 17, 2023 only beginning at 10:00am. Parking and shuttle service to and from the event will be available at the UAlbany State Quad Commuter Parking Lot and Harriman Campus Lot H to the arena. Pick up and drop off location for the shuttles in downtown Albany will be at Dalius Street and Hudson Avenue. CDTA Supervisors will be on-site to assist fans. 

FOR PARKING, EVENT-GOERS SHOULD PROCEED TO THE UALBANY STATE QUAD COMMUTER LOT FIRST.  Click here for a map of UAlbany's uptown campus. There will be signs directing you to this location.  The MVP Arena will open two (2) hours before the first game starts on Friday at 2:00pm.

Parking at these locations is $20 per car and includes shuttle service to and from the event.  CREDIT CARD PAYMENT ONLY.  NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED.  NO RE-ENTRY.

The shuttles will start on Friday, March 17 at 10 AM from the UAlbany State Quad Commuter Parking Lot.  Once that lot is full you will be directed to the Harriman Campus Lot H.  The shuttles will run one and a half hours after the conclusion of the last game on Friday, March 17.  

Friday Albany Game Times Are As Follows:

2:00 PM  -  VCU vs. Saint Mary's

4:30 PM -   Iona vs. UConn

*Please Note: BUILDING IS TO BE EMPTIED BETWEEN THE 2ND AND 3RD GAMES.

7:25 PM -   Drake vs. Miami

9:55 PM -   Kent State vs. Indiana

MVP BUILDING SECURITY MEASURES:

MVP Arena continually reviews its security systems. As a result of these ongoing reviews, and with the goal of continuing to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for our guests, tenants, and co-workers, MVP Arena has added numerous procedures and security measures to its existing comprehensive security program.

Bag policy: 

• CLEAR plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12” will be allowed. Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” (approximately the size of a hand) will be allowed and do not need to be clear. Larger and other types of bags are prohibited. There is no storage or check-in for prohibited bags. For patrons with young children in attendance, diaper bags are allowed and subject to search.
  

• Walk-thru metal detectors will be used at all entrances of the facility. If needed, security will perform pat downs on patrons in addition to the metal detectors
  

• Cell phones are permitted but cameras will not be allowed inside. Professional lenses are prohibited.
  

• Patrons should plan to arrive earlier than normal to allow for traffic, parking and security procedures.

Directions to the UAlbany State Quad Commuter Parking Lot:

From the North:  Take the Northway (I-87) south to Exit 1E.  Merge onto I-90 east (toward Albany/Boston).  Take Exit 2, and turn left onto Washington Avenue.  Move into the right-hand lane.  The UAlbany's main entrance will be on your right.  Follow University signs for State Quad Commuter Parking lot.

From the South: Take the New York State Thruway (I-87) north to Exit 24.  Merge onto I-90 east (toward Albany/Boston).  Take Exit 2, and turn left onto Washington Avenue.  Move into the right-hand lane, the UAlbany's main entrance will be on your right.  Follow University signs for the State Quad Commuter parking lot.

From the East:  Take I-90 west to Exit 2.  At the first traffic circle, take the third exit onto Fuller Road.  At the second traffic circle, take the third exit onto the Washington Avenue ramp and then merge onto Washington Avenue.  Move into the right-hand lane, the UAlbany's main entrance will be on your right.  Follow University signs for State Quad Commuter parking lot.
