Website Section Features Contacts for Taxi Service Across Region
ALBANY, NY (December 22, 2016) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced a new taxi webpage available online at CDTA.org. The new website is a one-stop-shop where the public can find information about all medallioned taxi services by region, a customer comment form and a passenger bill of rights.
“We launched this new section of our website in time to assist people looking to travel safely during the holiday season,” said CDTA Chairman of the Board David M. Stackrow. “Insuring that customers know they are using credentialed providers will make it easier to find a taxi, and the new comment form will allow customers the ability to offer feedback in one central location.”
The taxi by region webpage can be found by visiting CDTA’s website, clicking on “The Region” section and then “Taxi Cabs”. You can access the page directly by visiting: https://www.cdta.org/regional-taxi-service.
CDTA rolled out a customer questionnaire in October to gather initial feedback on local taxi service. Development of a common ordinance that municipalities can adopt is underway. This will establish one set of operating rules, regulations and guidelines for all taxi services. It’s expected to be presented to local municipalities in early 2017.
CDTA continues to expand its role as a regional mobility provider that can offer a menu of transportation options. This includes regional transit services, management of intermodal centers, a regional bike share program, and oversight of local taxi services, all to lessen the need for the region to be automobile dependent and encourage increase use of the CDTA services.
