Schenectady County Board of Elections Partners with CDTA to Provide Additional Transportation to Early Voting Locations
SCHENECTADY, NY (October 25, 2019) The Schenectady County Board of Elections and CDTA have partnered to provide additional transportation options to connect the community to two early voting sites in the County.
“We’d like to thank CDTA for providing additional transportation opportunities to Schenectady County voters,” said Board of Elections Commissioners Amy Hild and Darlene Harris. “With more days and times to vote this year, it is easier than ever for residents to participate in the election process.”
CDTA service is currently available at 2 of the early voting locations: ViaPort Rotterdam at 93 West Campbell Road and Niskayuna Town Hall, One Niskayuna Circle (an existing bus stop is within one block of the Town Hall).
CDTA’s additional service will be provided for the two remaining early voting sites:
- Glenville Senior Center, 32 Worden Road, Take the Route 450 bus to the corner of Route 50 and Worden Road. A trolley will pick up customers there for drop off at the Senior Center.
- Hon. Karen B. Johnson Library, 99 Clinton Street, Schenectady, A trolley will be circulating to the bus stops along Union Street, Nott Terrace, State Street and Clinton Street for drop off at the library.
The additional service will run from Sunday, October 27 through Sunday, November 3. Trolley hours will be Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 2pm; Monday and Wednesday from 12pm to 8pm; and Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 5pm.
Early Voting
For the first time in New York State, voters can vote in-person before Election Day at designated voting sites in Schenectady County. All registered voters can vote early, but if you do vote during the early voting period you are not eligible to vote on Election Day.
