Iconic Green and Purple Bikes Return for Milestone Season
ALBANY, NY – April 1, 2026 – CDPHP® and the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) are excited to announce the launch of season 10 of CDPHP Cycle!, celebrating a decade of providing residents and visitors with an eco-friendly, convenient, and affordable way to get around the Capital Region.
Customers will see bikes return to stations today, Wednesday, April 1. This milestone season promises to be the best yet and will feature special promotions, discounted rates, giveaways, themed “unicorn” bikes, and contests to celebrate 10 years of riding.
Since its debut, CDPHP Cycle! has played a key role in expanding sustainable transportation options across the region. In 2025, CDPHP Cycle! had record ridership, with members logging more than 1000,000 trips in a single season, highlighting the growing popularity of bike-sharing as a reliable mobility solution.

This season, riders will have access to more than 600 bikes, featuring more than 400 electric-assist (or e-bikes) and brand-new pedal bikes. Seasonal, monthly, and discounted student passes remain available, while the program continues to offer one of the most affordable mobility options in the region. Pricing is just $0.08 per mile for standard pedal bikes and $0.15 per mile for e-bikes.
Returning for Season 10 is the popular “Return N Earn” program, which allow members to earn credits towards new memberships by bringing out of hub bikes back to CDPHP Cycle! stations. Members with a monthly plan who ride an out of hub CDPHP Cycle! bike back to a CDPHP Cycle! rack 20 times will earn enough points to pay for their next month’s membership. More than 20 bikes can also add up to additional free minutes! More details on this program can be found at www.cdphpcycle.org.
CDPHP Cycle! will also continue its partnership with the Albany Housing Authority, expanding access to reduced-cost memberships. Residents of the Authority can enroll through the Albany Housing Authority Resource Center.
"Reaching our 10th season is an exciting milestone," said CDTA CEO Frank Annicaro. "This program has transformed the way people move around the Capital Region, providing a flexible, sustainable option that complements public transit and supports healthier communities. We’re looking forward to celebrating this achievement with our riders all season long.”
“For the past decade, CDPHP Cycle! has played an important role in how people move, connect, and experience the greater Capital Region,” said Nick Kraft, chief customer & engagement officer at CDPHP. “What started as an innovative idea has grown into a trusted, healthier mobility option that brings people closer together.
