Record Ridership in Season Three; Rides in Albany and Troy Top the List
ALBANY, N.Y. (December 5, 2019) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and CDPHP wrapped up the third season of the CDPHP Cycle! riding season with more than 41,000 trips taken and 12,000 members in Albany, Cohoes, Schenectady, Troy, and Saratoga Springs.
“CDPHP Cycle! continues to exceed expectations, and season three was no exception,” said John D. Bennett, MD, president and CEO of CDPHP. “I applaud the entire Capital Region for embracing this healthy, environmentally-friendly way of getting around town!”
“We are excited to close the third season with record ridership numbers.” said Carm Basile, CEO of CDTA. “Bringing a deep and wide menu of mobility options to the region, all under one umbrella, has been our vision from the beginning. We are looking forward to season four and coming out bigger and bolder with new partners and riders.”
CDPHP Cycle! Final Stats
- 41,578 trips
- 12,316 all-time members
- 3,126,044 calories burned
- 68,915 pounds of carbon reduced (compared to driving)

Contributing to significant ridership gains in season three was the introduction of CDPHP Cycle! Access agreements with many colleges and businesses across the Capital Region. RPI and UAlbany added CDPHP Cycle! Access to their campus communities in 2019, which resulted in more than 33,000 rides taken in Albany and Troy.
CDPHP Cycle! will resume on April 1, 2020, weather permitting. For more information, including rental fees, rack locations, and more, visit www.cdphpcycle.com.
