CDTA TO REROUTE SERVICE TO ACCOMMODATE SOAPBOX DERBY

Albany, NY) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Friday, June 10 through Sunday, June 12, 2011, service will be rerouted to accommodate the Soap Box Derby in downtown Albany. Madison Avenue between Eagle Street and Swan Street will be closed 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 10 through 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12th. The CDTA reroutes will be in effect during the same time. The routes affected are:
CDTA Announces Reroutes for the Freihofer's Run for Women

The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Saturday, June 4,2011, buses will be rerouted to accommodate the Freihofer’s Run for Women events. Madison Avenue, between Eagle and Swan Streets will be closed to all traffic.

2011 Saratoga Springs Visitor Trolley Kicks Off Summer Season with New Vehicles and a New Route

(Albany, NY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that the Saratoga Springs Visitors’ Trolley service will begin on Sunday, May 29th and will run through Monday, September 5, Labor Day. CDTA will introduce two brand new trolleys into service and feature a re-designed route that will include a stop at the Saratoga Race course.
CDTA Announces Memorial Day Service and Parade Reroutes

(ALBANY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30, 2011, buses will operate on a Sunday/Holiday schedule. NX buses will not run. Regular weekday service will resume on Tuesday, May 31, 2011.
In addition, service will be temporarily rerouted to accommodate various Capital Region Memorial Day parades. The parade schedules and reroutes are as follows:
CDTA DONATES FULL SIZE BUS TO BOCES FOR STUDENT TRAINING

(Albany, NY) – Today, the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) and BOCES Capital Region Career & Technical School together announced the donation of a retired CDTA bus for training use in the BOCES Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Repair class. The donated 40-foot 1998 Orion 6 bus, equipped with an M-11 Cummins diesel engine, Allison automatic transmission, and Thermo-King HVAC system, will serve as a hands-on learning tool for students to work with to resolve real-life, mechanical troubleshooting exercise

CDTA to Provide Free Shuttle Service For 2011 Albany Tulip Festival Attendees

(Albany, NY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) announced that it will provide a special free shuttle service for the 2011 Albany Tulip Festival event held in Washington Park, to help ease parking and traffic congestion for attendees. The shuttle service will operate on Saturday, May 7th and Sunday, May 8thfrom 12- 6:30pm, and will travel to Washington Park from two Park and Ride lot locations: Elk and Hawk Streets and the OGS parking garage on Madison Avenue and Eagle Street.
