CDTA ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL SERVICE TO BEGIN ON OCTOBER 1ST

Increased Demand During Peak Time Periods Leads To Enhanced Service

(Albany, NY) – The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) today announced enhanced service for a pair of routes that will go into effect onTuesday October 1, 2013. CDTA is responding to demand for service that supports the Capital Region’s growing student population and job opportunities.

Increased ridership associated with CDTA’s universal access agreement with Hudson Valley Community College will see morning trips added to Route #224 and an influx of new workers will see additional service added to Route #737 in both the morning and evenings.  

Enhanced Service Snapshot:

  • Route #224 (Albany-Troy-Rensselaer): Additional northbound trips will be added weekdays between 7:00am-8:45am. Buses will arrive at a 15-minute frequency during this time period.  

Trips leaving from Empire State Plaza to Troy: 

7:01am             7:16am             7:31am

7:46am             8:01am             8:16am

8:31am             8:46am

 

  • Route #737 (Corporate Woods/Airport): Four additional trips will be added to Corporate Woods. There will be two morning trips (AM Westbound) added along with two afternoon trips (PM eastbound). Buses will arrive at 30-minute frequency during these time periods.

Additional trips leaving from downtown Albany: 

6:40am             7:40am 

Additional trips leaving from Corporate Woods:  

4:06pm             5:06pm
