Your good opinion matters! To commend your bus operator or any other CDTA employee for outstanding services, contact us. Please provide a brief description or reason for your commendation, along with the employee’s name or ID number, the bus route or number; and, the date and time and location of the event. We will pass the commendation along to the employee and insure that he or she is properly recognized.


Your concerns and comments help us improve! If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, we want to know about it right away. Please provide specific information, include the bus or route number; the direction the bus was traveling; and, the day, time and location where the event occurred. If it is about an employee, his or her name or ID number will help. We will investigate and respond to your concerns with 10 business days.

Fare Disputes

If you have a disagreement with your bus operator about your fare, please provide the bus, route number and circumstances surrounding the dispute. We will investigate and provide a refund, if justified, with 10 business days of your original call.

Service Requests

CDTA’s Business Development Department reviews our route structure and bus schedules several times a year. Customer suggestions are very helpful in the process and we encourage your input.

To obtain Information through CDTA FOIL

FOIL Policy
The Freedom of Information Law (“FOIL”), which is set forth in Article 6 of the Public Officers Law, allows members of the public to access certain existing governmental records. A list of records maintained by CDTA may be found here. It is important to note that FOIL pertains only to existing records that are not exempted from disclosure. Additional information regarding FOIL may be found on the Committee on Open Government website, located at

Records of the Capital District Transportation Authority may be requested in writing from the agency’s Records Access Officer as follows:

    Please include a regular mailing address and telephone number in your request, even where the request is made electronically or by facsimile transmission.

    FOIL requests will be acknowledged within 5 business days of receipt, granting or denying access or requesting additional time for the consideration of the request.

    Denials of access may be appealed by writing, within 30 days, to:

    We will provide a response within 10 business days after receiving a notice of appeal.

    The fee for copying documents is $0.25 per page or the actual cost of reproduction. The fee for other records will vary, depending upon the nature of the request. Payment must be made to CDTA by check or money order. Records are generally made available on each day that the offices are open, during regular business hours (between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.).
