CDTA Celebrates 10th Anniversary of “Men Wear Pink” Campaign with New Bus Design
ALBANY, NY (September 26, 2025) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA), the American Cancer Society, and community partners are excited to kick off the Men Wear Pink Campaign and unveil the two CDTA pink buses.
The Capital Region community will now officially start seeing the iconic pink CDTA 40’ bus and the Real Kids Wear Pink STAR bus on the streets to raise awareness and support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is CDTA’s tenth year participating in the Men Wear Pink Campaign. To mark the occasion, CDTA unveiled a new design on the side of the 40’ bus.
“We’re proud to once again paint our buses pink for October to show our support for those impacted by breast cancer,” said CDTA CEO Frank Annciaro. “Public transit reaches every corner of our community, and we’re using that visibility to raise awareness about breast cancer and the work the American Cancer Society does. Thank you to the CDTA workforce who helps transform these buses and gets behind this important campaign.”
CDTA has partnered with Camelot Print & Copy, Ted’s Fish Fry, Harding Mazzotti, Onward Upliftment of Resolution Foundation Inc., and Lamar Advertising to raise even more money and awareness for the campaign. Their logos will be displayed on the 40-foot bus in recognition of their generous donations toward the campaign. Broadview Federal Credit Union is once again supporting the Real Kids Wear Pink STAR bus with its logo displayed on the bus.
All the materials to transform the buses were generously donated by Lamar Advertising, NAPA Automotive Finishes, and Seifert Transit Graphics. CDTA paint shop technicians paint the buses into the iconic pink fleet year after year.
Last year, CDTA raised nearly $25,000 for the campaign. So far this year, CDTA has raised more than $12,500. Over the last ten years, CDTA has raised nearly $150,000 for the American Cancer Society.
